Features:A route that gives direct access to the Ruahine’sridge tops. The Golden Crown Ridge Track beginsin manuka behind the Masters Shelter picnic area.After about 20 minutes the track emerges into the openand then climbs around a series of rocky knolls beforecontinuing steeply upwards through beech forest tomeet the track on the top of the range. To the north thistrack leads to No Man’s Rd (13) and to the south linkswith tracks to Sentry Box, Park’s Peak and the UpperMakaroro Huts. Pohatuhaha Trig (1368m) is a goodviewing point.
