Easy driving, no rough terrain, vehicle could get dusty, road tyres, novice drivers. Suitable:1 vehicle Access:From Napier, head northwest along Puketitiri Road. Follow the signs for Balls Clearing along Hot Springs Road (Pakaututu Road) and turn left in to Makahu Road. Features:Mangatutu Hot Springs is a popular spot in Kaweka Forest Park. DOC has provided excellent facilities, including toilets and a campsite at the end of this well-groomed gravel track, which is very narrow in places. You'll have three multi-choice options of crossing the streams using the bridge or the ford along Makahu Road. Camping, picnic, fishing and a starting point for tramping, hunting or a walk up the Mohaka River. The small pool is situated halfway down a mountainside overlooking the Mohaka River and draws water from the hot stream via a PVC pipe.
